Obamacare
President Barack Obama enacted the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in 2010 to help reduce healthcare costs for families and ensure more people get access to affordable health insurance. This plan was known as Obamacare.
The primary goal of Obamacare was to reduce the cost of health insurance for the public and make it available to everyone. This health insurance plan makes it mandatory for parents to include their children in their plans up to the age of 26 and provide essential health services such as chronic disease management, maternity and newborn care, mental and behavioral health treatment, lab tests, pediatric care, prescription drugs, outpatient care, emergency room services, hospitalization, and offer services and devices to people with disabilities, injuries, or other chronic conditions.
